Coldwater Mountain, nestled in the northeast corner of Alabama, is a true trail runner’s haven. Meticulously crafted trails for every level of runner, with smooth singletrack, challenging climbs, and fun descents, there’s something for everyone in Anniston. Add the vibrance of fall foliage and you’re in for an exceptional running experience.

Starting in Downtown Anniston, runners will leave the start/finish area and will launch into the northeast portion of the Coldwater Mountain trail system. Using a series of green trails to access the crest of the mountain, runners will then embark on a 10-mile section of passable singletrack (newly constructed) off of Oval Office to access the southwestern corner of the trail system.
Finishing up on the lower section of Bomb Dog, runners will then climb back up using a combination of singletrack and service roads to access the upper sections of Bomb Dog, before ultimately climbing Chilhowee to reach a new flyover construction.
Then it’s down Goldilocks and up Cassidy on their way to Talladega and Trillium, before dropping down a new singletrack connector to the City of Anniston and the finish!
- Dedicated neutral bag drop area at the start/finish.
- Bags can be left at this location and accessed at the aid station.
- Bags must be clear plastic marked with your name and bib number.
- Bags will be returned to the start/finish by the start of the awards ceremony.
- Life Time is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
- Neutral Aid Stations will be available to all runners on course every 7-8 miles approximately.
- Aid Station Maps coming soon.
- Course cutoffs will be in place at several locations around the course to ensure that all runners finish before dark.
The Life Time Coldwater Trail Run presented by Sunny King Auto is a qualifier for the Life Time Leadville Trail 100 Run presented by La Sportiva.
There are a minimum of 35 LT100 qualifier coins up for grabs at each of the Leadville Race Series qualifier events.
- Qualifier coins will only be given to athletes who finish the 50k run.
- Coin winners MUST BE PRESENT at the awards ceremony and claim their entry immediately.
- Coin winners must complete and pay for their registration for the Leadville Trail 100 Run during the designated time offered.
- All registration fees for the LT100 Run are non-transferable, nonrefundable, and subject to the Leadville Race Series deferral policies.
The 35+ coins at each event will be distributed based on overall and age group performance, as well as an event lottery at the end of the awards ceremony.
- The performance based coins will be distributed to the top overall performances, as well as the top performances of each age category.
- If an athlete elects to not accept their slot, the coin will “roll down” to the next top athlete in their category.
- In the event that slots are not claimed after the roll down, they will be reallocated to the event lottery.
- The event lottery is available to all official finishers.
- Names will be randomly drawn in the lottery from all eligible and interested athletes to distribute these coins until none remain.

Awards will be given to the top 5 Males / top 5 Females overall.
50k Run:
Awards will be given to the top 3 athletes in the following categories:
Overall Male/Female/Nonbinary/Para*
29 & Under Male/Female
30-39 Male/Female
40-49 Male/Female
50-59 Male/Female
60-69 Male/Female
70+ Male/Female
*Overall award winners will be removed from the age class awards
NOTE: Age group awards will be based on the age an athlete will be on RACE DAY
